Wine of the Week

12th June 2006

2004 Viognier, Vin de Pays d'Hauterive,
Domaine de la Bastide, Languedoc, France, £4.99, Booths

This wine actually comes from the Corbières region of France's far south, better known for brawny, herb-strewn reds. Well, they can clearly make Viognier too, because this has a floral scent, lovely soft apricot fruit, and a lot more freshness than many Viogniers achieve
