2001 Bobal-Tempranillo, Rozaleme The Bobal is a rather brutish black grape that's grown in the torrid south-east of Spain, but blended with the classy Tempranillo, the locals have at last started to make decent wine out of it. It's still pretty powerful stuff – its rich cockle-warming fruit at least halfway to dates and raisins steeped in toffee – but when you need a red that really tastes of the sunshine, give this one a try. Also at Bennetts, Butlers Wine Cellar, Valvona & Crolla, Noel Young Wines. Taken from Oz Clarke's Wine
