22 November 2004 2003 Catarratto, Aramonte, Firriato, Sicily, Italy, £4.99, Marks & Spencer
Sicily is becoming one of the hotbeds of innovation in Italy after generations of slumber. Catarratto is a grape that used to be made in Marsala. What a waste. It's much better employed creating a bright soft white like this, smelling of peach talc and wild flowers, and tasting of spice and green melon.
