2003 Zinfandel, Californian Reserve, Jeff Runquist,
Zinfandel grows all over the place in California – particularly in the boiling hot Central Valley. Well, these Zin grapes are from the Central Valley, but at the north end, where conditions are cooler, and the result is better wine – gentle in texture, with loads of slightly baked date and raisin and blackberry fruit and a touch of tobacco scent.
