1 December 2003 2000 Minervois, Château de Landuré, Cuvée de l'Abbé Frégouse,Languedoc-Roussillon, France £6.99, Waitrose A really good example of this resurgent area in the south of France. It's got a bit of oaky sweetness but not too much because the fruit itself is so wonderfully deep and ripe and scented the last thing it needs is to be hidden in a vanilla-ey oak shroud. The ripe blackberry and loganberry coulis fruit is made even more powerful by a meaty growl from the Mourvèdre grape and the revivifying medicinal fumes of Angostura and bay. Taken from Oz Clarke's Wine
