Wine of the Week

17th April 2006

2003 Merloblu, Castello di Luzzano,
Lombardy, Italy, £6.49, Booths

Really good Merlots are hard to track down, since so many are made in a confected, over-commercial manner. But this one, from near Milan, is good, with rich plum and blackcurrant fruit, a nice nip of tannin and some tasty oak.
