2002 Minervois, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Minervois at its best is supposed to smell of violets – and this one does! Not only violets but something that reminds me – I don't know how – of pink talcum powder. However, take a slug and this is proper red wine – burly, a bit tannic, but deep and ripe and bursting with flavours of black cherries and plums.
