10th April 2006
2004 Sauvignon Blanc Reserve, Montes,
Montes' reputation is as a producer of serious, powerful reds, but its whites seem to get better year after year, especially as they include more fruit from cool areas like Casablanca. This Sauvignon is nicely tangy, reasonably full in texture, but with all the desirable Sauvignon flavours – lime zest, nettles, kiwi fruit, coffee bean – there in force.
