Haras de Pirque make powerful, burly, dark wines drenched with black fruit, tannins and dark promise. They've lightened up a little here: it's still a dense wine with enough tannin to make your gums shudder, but the massive weight of black plum and black cherry juice and black chocolate richness loaded with spice makes it a triumph.
